We Can Build Pergolas From A Wide Range Of Materials

Along with providing shade and seclusion, a pergola will add flair to your backyard. However, it should also compliment your home. So, we offer a wide array of building materials to select from. These include vinyl, timber, steel, aluminium and sail pergolas. Having trouble deciding? Check out each material below.

Timber Pergolas

For a wide array of colour choices and affordable prices, pressure treated timber is ideal. What’s more, it can be customised to suit any home. Simply stain or paint the timber to create a truly showstopping backyard. And, as timber pergolas are treated, it resists mould, bugs and mildew build-up.

Vinyl Pergolas

Vinyl is the pergola material of choice for many homeowners. It’s affordable, durable and can be customised to match any décor. This material is the ideal combination of sturdiness and style. Mainly available in shades of white, it introduces a formal feel to your backyard. And, as it’s lightweight, you won’t require more posts to cover large areas.

Sail Pergolas

Is your backyard heavily affected by the sun? If so, a sail pergola is a perfect solution. Unlike the traditional lattice roof, it utilises a stretchable, resilient fabric. And, a sail creates a clean, modern, sleek design to perfectly complement your home. Available in a variety of colours, a sail pergola will complete your outdoor look.

Steel Pergolas

For a sturdy pergola that maximises shade, steel is a great choice. It’s easy to attach sheets or curtains to the frame. Not only does this increase shade, but it also adds a personal touch. And, steel is renowned for its resilience. So, not only is it weather-resistant, your linens will always remain in place.

Aluminium Pergolas

Are you searching for a cost-effective way to enhance your outdoor space? Consider an aluminium pergola. Virtually maintenance-free, it will resist rot and stand up to the harsh Australian weather. And, installation is quick and easy. If you’re ready to undertake a new DIY project, installing an aluminium pergola is ideal.

Choose From One Of Our Many Popular Pergola Styles

We believe your pergola should suit your individual style. That’s why we tailor each pergola to your taste, needs and budget. From open-top, louvred, gable, thatched, pitched and more, you’re sure to find the right solution for your backyard. Whether you’re interested in a modern, rustic or formal look, our team is ready to help.

Open-Top Pergolas

As the name suggests, this pergola is open, rather than enclosed. This design provides outstanding air circulation and bathes the area in sunlight. An open-top pergola is guaranteed to dramatically enhance the natural beauty of your backyard. And, its innovative design ensures the area is completely private.

Pool Pergolas

Pool pergolas are extremely popular and it’s easy to see why. Practical and visually stunning, this elegant structure defines your outdoor space. And, you can create any look you desire. Your pool pergola can be freestanding, attached to a wall or the outside of your house. Stylish and functional, it’s the perfect place to chill on hot days.

Louvered Pergolas

Are you searching for an attractive, functional way to enjoy the outdoors? The answer is a louvered pergola. With an adjustable roof, you can entertain year-round, regardless of the weather. Louvered pergolas allow you to control sunlight, wind and rain, to create ideal outdoor conditions. Whether you’re looking for a simple or elegant design, you’re sure to find the perfect match for your home.

Thatched Pergolas

When choosing a pergola, it’s important to consider style and functionality. A thatched pergola combines both elements perfectly. Along with offering shade, a thatched pergola introduces an exotic feel to your backyard. The thatched roof cools the shade by 10 to 15 degrees. So, it’s perfect for those hot summer days.

Pitched Pergolas

Like a pitched roof, this pergola is distinguished by its unique sloping shape. Attached to your home, you can drastically extend your entertainment area. It’s the perfect way to bring the outside in. By installing a sliding or slacker door, this pergola can transform your living or eating areas.

Gable Pergolas

Are the elements preventing you from enjoying your backyard? No matter the weather, a gable pergola allows you to take full advantage of your outdoor space. Providing supreme sun protection and sufficient water runoff, you can enjoy the outdoors all year round. Through scorching sun, rain, wind and more, a gable pergola withstands it all.

Arched Pergolas

Do you have a flair for entertaining? If so, the arched pergola was designed with you in mind. Its arched design provides total protection from the elements. The stunning curved roof creates a breathtaking, custom entertaining space. You can create a place to entertain friends, or a cosy, intimate outdoor room.

Free Standing Pergolas

A pergola is a fantastic way to define your outdoor space. With a wide array of designs and materials to choose from, it’s the perfect combination of practicality and style. You can create an open-air living area, a barbecue space, an intimate outdoor room, or a spot to laze by the pool.

Pergola Frequently Asked Questions

What is the purpose of a pergola?

Most spaces can accommodate pergolas, which is why they are so popular. They provide excellent protection from direct sun rays while still allowing sunlight to fill a space. Pergolas also come in a variety of sizes, so you’re sure to find one that matches your design.

How much does it cost to build a pergola?

The average cost is between $100 and $500 per square meter, but it does vary depending on several factors, including:

  • The size and complexity of the pergola's design
  • The materials used
  • How much ground preparation is needed
  • Planning permits, if required
  • Removing or relocating any plumbing or electrical work

What happens if you build a pergola without a permit?

Installing a pergola that is larger than 20 square metres without a permit could lead to fines or even the removal of the pergola. When building a pergola, you must follow Australian requirements such as leaving 300 mm between the edge of the pergola and your boundary fence.
